General Care & Safety FAQs

We pride ourselves on providing the very best quality care in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas, always seeking to accommodate our clients’ exact requirements. Our focus is on providing a highly tailored, individual service. We use market-leading electronic monitoring technology (Birdie) to track our carers’ progress in real time, enabling us to manage expectations, ensure medication safety, and increase accountability.

Security and confidentiality are paramount. Every member of the Peach Care Services team undergoes a rigorous vetting process, including enhanced DBS checks, before they begin working with us. All staff wear uniforms and carry personalised photo identification. We are fully registered and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and strive to exceed their minimum standards in everything we do.

At Peach Care Services, we believe that exceptional care starts with exceptional training. We continuously invest in our team to ensure they exceed CQC standards and are fully equipped to support adults, children, and individuals with complex needs.

  • Adult Care Foundation: Every carer completes the industry-standard Care Certificate, alongside rigorous mandatory training in Adult Safeguarding, safe Medication Administration, Moving and Handling, and Basic Life Support.

  • Paediatric & SEND Care: Staff supporting children receive specialized training tailored to our younger clients. This includes Paediatric First Aid, Level 3 Child Safeguarding, the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism, and trauma-informed Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to ensure a safe, nurturing environment for children in the EHCP+ programme.

  • Complex & Specialist Care: For clients requiring highly specialized medical support, our carers undergo advanced, condition-specific training. This includes specialized instruction for Dementia and Alzheimer’s care, End-of-Life (Palliative) care, and clinical interventions signed off by healthcare professionals, such as PEG feeding management and Epilepsy rescue medication administration (e.g., Buccal Midazolam).

We believe that consistency works best, as clients and carers get to know one another’s routines. While it is impossible to rely on a single carer every day, we seek to keep the number of carers visiting you to an absolute minimum. Because home care involves travel variables (traffic, emergencies), we cannot guarantee to-the-minute visit times, but we ask clients to allow a +/- 15-minute window. We will always call you if a more significant delay occurs.

While we assist with a wide range of daily tasks, our carers are not legally permitted to administer injections or change sterile dressings. Additionally, we cannot carry out tasks that pose a health and safety risk to the client or the carer. All permissible tasks will be clearly agreed upon in your tailored Care Plan.

We aim to provide the best possible service, safely and with dignity. However, if you have a concern, we want to resolve it immediately. The law requires care providers to have an effective system for receiving and acting on complaints. If you wish to raise an issue, please email info@peachcareservices.com or contact our office directly. You can request a full copy of our complaints policy at any time.

Adult Care FAQs

Domiciliary care involves a trained care assistant visiting your home for a set amount of time (starting from 30 minutes to several hours) to help you maintain your independence. They can assist with personal care (washing, dressing), continence care, meal preparation, safe medication prompting, and light domestic housekeeping.

Live-in care means a trained care specialist lives with you in your own home, providing 24‑hour support. This includes personal care, medication assistance, companionship, and household tasks. Unlike a residential care home, live-in care allows you to stay in familiar surroundings and remain a part of your local community while receiving personalised, one-to-one support.

Not necessarily. While live-in care is often privately funded, it can actually be highly cost-effective, particularly for couples who can stay together at home under the care of a single dedicated carer, avoiding the cost of two separate care home rooms.

Not at all. Live-in care is designed to support independence. Carers help with tasks but always respect your routines, preferences, and decisions. Before care starts, we conduct a holistic assessment to understand your needs, ensuring the Care Plan is designed with you at the absolute centre.

A live-in carer provides continuous supervision to drastically reduce the risk of falls, responds quickly to medical emergencies, and can monitor subtle health changes as they happen, communicating directly with your GP or family if needed.

For Sleep-In Care, the carer requires a bed to sleep in but is on hand to wake up to three times a night for unpredictable emergencies (e.g., helping you to the bathroom). For Waking Night Care, the professional carer remains awake and alert throughout the shift to provide continuous monitoring and scheduled interventions.

Yes. If a primary family carer needs to take a well-earned break, go on holiday, or recover from their own illness, we can step in to provide seamless, temporary care cover in your home.

Yes. Our specially trained carers provide compassionate live-in or hourly care to clients who wish to remain in the comfort of their own homes at the end of their lives. We work collaboratively with district nurses and local healthcare teams to ensure pain management, dignity, and crucial emotional support for the whole family.

Our carers undergo rigorous specialist training to support individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and neurological conditions. We focus on establishing calming routines, utilising memory-supporting strategies, and safely de-escalating challenging emotional responses using positive behaviour support techniques.

Child Care & SEND Support FAQs

As part of the Milton Keynes City Council EHCP+ initiative, we provide funded sessions for children aged 4 to 19 with a valid Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). These sessions are designed to nurture social skills, promote independence, and provide a safe, engaging environment tailored to your child’s specific developmental goals. You can book our EHCP+ sessions directly via the secure EEQU portal.

Yes. Safeguarding is our absolute highest priority. Every carer working with children undergoes an enhanced DBS check, mandatory paediatric first aid training, and rigorous Level 3 Safeguarding certifications. They also receive specialised, ongoing training tailored to SEND support and complex paediatric care.

We know that consistency and deep connection are vital, especially for children with autism, ADHD, or sensory processing differences. We take the time to understand your child’s unique likes, dislikes, sensory triggers, and communication style. We use this holistic profile to match them with a care specialist whose personality, energy level, and skillset are the perfect fit.

Absolutely. We can provide structured support during those notoriously busy transition times. Our carers can assist with morning personal care, breakfast routines, and safe handovers for school transport, as well as providing engaging, safe after-school care and companionship until you finish work.

Yes, we offer highly flexible holiday care packages. We understand that routine changes during school holidays can be disruptive and anxiety-inducing for children with SEND. Our carers help maintain a predictable, comforting routine at home while organising engaging, sensory-friendly activities.

Yes! Promoting independence and social inclusion is a core part of our philosophy. Following a thorough risk assessment and with your full permission, our carers can safely accompany your child to local parks, sensory centres, social clubs, or other community activities across Milton Keynes.

Our childcare specialists are deeply trained in autism awareness and managing behaviours that may challenge. We strictly utilise trauma-informed, positive behaviour support (PBS) techniques to create a calm, structured, and secure environment, helping children learn to safely regulate their emotions while always respecting their choice and dignity.

Yes. We understand that emotional well-being is just as important as physical care. We work closely with families, schools, and healthcare professionals to implement sensitive, child-centred care plans that support emotional regulation, ease anxiety, and build overall self-esteem and resilience.

Absolutely. We provide complex care management for children and young adults with profound medical conditions. This includes having staff specifically trained and signed off by clinical leads for PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) feeding management, Epilepsy rescue medication administration (such as Buccal Midazolam), and physical disability support (such as Cerebral Palsy or muscular dystrophy).

We believe in total transparency and partnership with parents. We utilise the innovative Birdie App, a secure digital platform where our carers log real-time updates, mood observations, and medication administration records. You can access these daily notes instantly via the Family Access Portal on your smartphone, giving you absolute peace of mind throughout the day.
