UNDERSTANDING NEGLECT
Neglect is one of the most common forms of child maltreatment and can have serious consequences. It’s important to recognise that neglect isn’t always obvious and can affect children at any age.
There are four main types of neglect:
- Physical neglect – Not providing basic needs like food, clothing, or shelter
- Educational neglect – Failing to ensure a child attends school or receives appropriate learning support
- Emotional neglect – Not offering affection, attention, or emotional support
- Medical neglect – Not providing necessary health care or treatment
Why Early Support Matters
Neglect can lead to both short-term and long-term challenges, including difficulties in learning, mental health issues, and trouble forming healthy relationships.
Practitioners and professionals working with children have a vital role in spotting early signs and offering support before concerns grow more serious.

SMALL BUSINESS DIGITAL CAPABILITY ROUNDTABLE
Elvis was honoured to attend a roundtable event hosted by Small Business Minister Gareth Thomas MP, alongside 14 other local small business representatives. The event provided a valuable opportunity to contribute feedback that will help shape the upcoming Small Business Strategy, set to be published this summer.
The discussion focused primarily on the role of digital technologies in supporting and advancing small businesses. It was an excellent occasion not only to share insights but also to connect and network with fellow small business owners.

AUTISM ACCEPTANCE MONTH
April is World Autism Acceptance Month, dedicated to raising awareness and fostering acceptance. It is a month when we celebrate and honour the experiences and identities of autistic individuals.
Autistic people are often misunderstood and may require support with things like communication, interaction with others, using their imagination, being flexible and feeling overwhelmed.
Autistic people face discrimination and barriers across all sectors of society. Peach knows how important awareness is in creating a society where autistic people are supported and empowered.
There are many organisations out there that help support individuals with autism and their families. I have linked a few of them below.
