PEACH NEWS: JULY
This month, our staff participated in face-to-face Understanding Autism training. This training was planned to help build on and support our staff’s existing knowledge, providing them with an extra boost of confidence when supporting and understanding neurodivergent children or adults.
We had our summer staff party. It was great to see staff bonding, team building and enjoying themselves outside of their work environment.
Our activity sessions will be taking place every Tuesday and Friday throughout August. Please look out for our flyers or scan the QR code below to learn more. Remember all sessions need to be booked in advance.

SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS
At Peach Care home, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All staff must understand and follow our safeguarding principles to protect children and vulnerable adults from harm.
Key Safeguarding Practices:
- Know Your Role: Understand how your role supports a safe environment and be familiar with our safeguarding policies (available on Bright HR).
- Spot the Signs: Learn to recognise signs of abuse or neglect—physical, emotional, sexual, financial—and act on any concerns.
- Report Immediately: Share any safeguarding concerns with management without delay. Don’t investigate yourself.
- Keep Boundaries: Maintain professional relationships at all times to avoid misunderstandings or risk of misconduct.
- Document Clearly: Record observations factually and accurately—they are crucial for follow-up actions
- Consent & Capacity: Know the difference and respect each individual’s right to make informed choices.
Look out for real-life examples and response tips in our next issue.
HEALTH AND WELL BEING CORNER...
In a world that never stops scrolling, stepping back from social media can feel radical—but it might be exactly what your mind needs.
Why take a break?
- Mental clarity: Without the constant noise of updates and opinions, your brain gets a chance to reset.
- Better sleep: Reduced screen time (especially before bed) improves sleep quality and helps regulate your body clock.
- Boosted self-esteem: Less comparison = more appreciation for your own journey.
- More time, more presence: Disconnecting from feeds opens up space for hobbies, real-life connections, and quiet moments.
Whether it’s a full detox or a few hours offline each day, even a short break can lead to noticeable improvements in mood, focus, and overall well-being.
CHALLENGE: TRY A 24-HOUR SOCIAL MEDIA PAUSE. NOTICE HOW YOU FEEL. YOUR MIND MIGHT THANK YOU.
